Our Spring Routine

As winter changes into spring, just like nature, our bodies and minds crave a transformation. Over those winter months we may have, intentionally or otherwise, fallen into slumber in some areas of our routine. With the arrival of brighter days and vibrant energy we see an opportunity to renew them. Let’s take a look at our spring routine and how we might embrace the beauty of this transformative season.

Spring Skincare

As spring sheds the darkness of winter, what remains may leave our skin feeling lackluster and dull. Embracing the change of seasons presents the perfect opportunity to adapt our skincare routine and shield our skin from new environmental factors that come are present in each season. While heavy moisturizers are ideal during winter to combat dry air and lock in moisture, spring calls for a switch to lightweight moisturizers that allow our skin to breathe. We want hydration that won’t overwhelm our skin. And don’t forget to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen after enjoying your daily 15 minutes of sunshine to safeguard your skin from the growing intensity of sunlight. And lastly the the beautifying benefit of hydration from within – remember to drink plenty of water!

Detox From the Heaviness of Winter

When spring enters the chat, it presents the ideal moment to rejuvenate both your body and mind as you shift from the weightiness of winter to the invigorating ambiance of spring. Let this season be a catalyst for revitalizing yourself, nurturing your body’s intrinsic detoxification pathways, and embracing cleansing rituals like include incorporating more fresh greens into your diet. A temporary break from sugar, processed foods, coffee, or alcohol can help your body recover from the indulgent comfort foods of winter. Engaging in a gentle detox supports your lymphatic system, which acts as your body’s natural “garbage disposal,” and facilitates the natural process of lightening your body’s load.

Get Moving (Outside)

Spring is the perfect time to embrace outdoor activities and enjoy the beauty of nature. Incorporating regular exercise into your routine, whether it’s a morning jog, a bike ride, yoga session at the park, or just a barefoot walk in the grass can make all the difference. Inhale the crisp air, bask in the warmth of the sunshine, and connect with your natural environment that you miss out of during winter. Exercise not only contributes to maintaining overall well being, but it also promotes increased energy levels, enhanced mood.

Create a Minful Practice

We believe that taking a moment to cultivate mindfulness and mental well-being is essential in every season. Consider incorporating meditation or deep breathing exercises into your daily routine to help decrease stress, promote relaxation, and bolster a sense of inner calm. Spring is a season of renewal and growth, take a few moments every day to sit quietly, perhaps outside as the weather becomes warmer, focus on your breath, and release tension. It often seems like we just don’t have the time to stop at any point in the day, but even five minuets of quiet in the car before leaving can reap surprising results! Additionally, engaging in joyous and tranquil activities such as gardening, painting, or drawing can also help reduce stress and nourish a sense of tranquility and fulfillment.
